Mid-Term Review (1-3 years) Cabriolets/Convertibles Abarth 124 Spider 124 GT - (2018) 1.4 MultiAir (170 Hp)

Perfect for those who want an affordable super charged sports car with attitude

Summary

170bhp, just over a ton, rear-wheel drive and an LSD; the 124 Spider has it all.

If you are looking for something fast and fun that stands out from the crowd at an affordable price then this is a good contender.

I’ve owned many cabriolet’s over the years; X3, Golf GTi, SLK AMG to name a few but this is hands down my favourite one to drive.

There is nothing at all subtle about the car, from the multi tone paintwork to the brazen unapologetically loud noise emitted from it’s quad exhaust. It’s hard to believe from the noise of the engine and it’s 0-62mph in 6.8 second that it only has a 1.4 litre (albeit four-cylinder turbocharged) engine.

It’s super fast and a delight to drive. It’s also very affordable to insure and isn’t a thirsty car.

I opted for a the Heritage pack and Bose upgraded sound system, which is crystal clear even at high speeds with the roof down.

If you are looking for a practical car with a large boot or are a tall driver (I’m only 5’3) it’s probably not for you but if you want fun and a car that screams to be taken for long drives with the roof down then this should be at the top of your list.

Would I recommend it? YES
