Test Drives SUVs Audi SQ7 SQ7 - (2017) 4.0 TDI V8 (435 Hp) quattro Tiptronic 7 Seat

The SQ7 really impresses with its looks, style, performance and comfort!

Summary

Took an SQ7 out for a test drive today with a London Audi Garage. What a great all round car. First up, the looks. Very bulky and very mean looking. It seems to hide its size really well, which is great for a 2 tonne vehicle! Seems to creep in under the radar of the new Central London emissions which is another pro!

Practicality and Comfort

Sitting inside the SQ7, it’s a nice place to be. Masses of space everywhere in the car. The drivers seat is hugely adjustable, and there is even a few positions available for the middle row seats. The back row sits 2 reasonable size adults which is better than most competitors out there. It’s got all the toys and options you could need and not need, so for long and short journeys everyone is sorted. Because the car never feels huge, it feels far more practical than the Q5 and other smaller SUVs on the market.

Performance and Handling

The SQ7 is fast! 429hp and tons of torque and it’s easy to get that onto the road. It sticks to the road well and in dynamic mode it’s low and stable. Being a cruiser built for comfort, you never really feel the road in a way that you would with a Cayenne for example, but nonetheless still a good performer. The V8 sounds good through a mixture of engine size and speaker size, and feels pretty responsive. I say pretty because it’s not whiplash inducing, but you know you are gathering pace very quickly as confirmed by the heads up display.

Would I recommend it? YES

We left the garage today and started browsing for cars for sale so definitely impressed with the first drive and certainly would recommend anyone puts this on their list if looking for a fast and well rounded 7 seater! If you don’t need the speed, I would also say check out the Vosprung edition. It’s slower but loaded to the teeth with kit!
