Not quite as aggressive as the previous model :(

Summary

First up a strap line like "not quite as aggressive as the previous model" in some cases might actually be a good thing. Not as jerky, smoother, more refined, more subtle sound blah blah! Not in this case, NO! When I drove the new 2019 SVR, whilst still very good, it was a little bit in the shadow of its former self. Yes it was a bit smoother, and a more chilled drive. But that's not what the SVR is supposed to be about. I would love to see the 2017 formula return! On the other hand of course, Land Rover had made some very nice changes on the inside, which, when you get in, more than make up for its losses in other areas. Although I was still disappointed in the exhaust sound, even whilst looking at the screens all over the cockpit. This model of course had the new infotainment system with the large dual screens in the centre control. Were these an improvement over the previous model... Not quite for me! Looked very nice, but whereas in the previous models I could easily find what I was looking for, now I found myself scrolling and clicking and searching for some of the basics like stop start, exhaust options and other menus that used to be easy to find. Small gripes aside, this is pretty much more of the same as the previous model in most other ways.

Would I recommend it? YES

If I had the choice, by heart would say go with the 2017 model I reviewed recently. It's just a monster in the a way this new one is not. This is an SVR, its supposed to be a bit outrageous, so lets let it do what it says on the tin! Oh and get the side step! :)
